Those who have played the game of Bingo only at online Bingo sites may be unaware of Bingo’s long history. The game of Bingo dates back at least as far as the sixteenth century, when the Italian National Lottery was created in 1530. France had its own version, called “Le Lotto” in the eighteenth century, which used cards printed with a random selection of numbers from 1 to 90 in a nine-by-three matrix. Different versions of “Lotto” have been used since the 1800′s in educational settings in order to teach children their multiplication tables, or other educational facts. Even today, there are lotto games for children that use pop culture icons, such as the Sesame Street Muppets, to help teach children their numbers, or about dinosaurs or how to tell time.
